Small businesses across northern Oxford County are invited to register for online marketing and e-commerce assistance through the Maine West Digital Business Assistance Program. The program offers a combination of consulting and micro grants to help businesses meet the growing need to reach and serve customers remotely.
Consulting services are provided by Bangor-based Danielle Dorrie of DD+Co Social Media Management and designed to help businesses understand and take advantage of the most up-to-date technology and platforms to improve online marketing and sales results.

Digital Marketing Assistance for Tourism Businesses
With 87% of travelers using online services to research and book travel plans, this program helps tourism, recreation, and hospitality businesses improve their use of digital marketing platforms to reach new customers and grow. Consulting services include:
- Creating or updating listings on leading travel platforms (Trip Advisor, Google Business, etc.)
- Review of social media marketing strategy
- Basic website evaluation (content, analytics, SEO, etc.)
E-Commerce Assistance
From retailers to restaurants, Covid-19 is accelerating the need for businesses to offer “touch free” transactions or to convert in-person sales to an online model. The E-Commerce Assistance Program provides hands-on consulting and micro-grants to support implementation of e-commerce business solutions with a focus on:
Eligible businesses must be located in the Maine West area that encompasses the Oxford Hills, greater Bethel, and River Valley areas. Participants are expected to pay $25 toward this service – less than 10% of the program value. Non-profits that provide direct product sales are also eligible.
- Integrated Point of Sale platforms including Square and Toast
- Online sales platforms such as Wix and Shopify
- Integrating online shopping into current business website
